Formally known as every girls' childhood crush, and favorite soulful white boy who makes r&b/pop hits, Justin Bieber is back in 2020, married, healing and creating music again.
Stepping into the music realm in 2010 with My World 2.0, Justin quickly became a fan favorite due to his soulful voice and music. Over the years, he’s dropped four albums, My World 2.0, Under the Mistletoe, Believe and his last album Purpose in 2015.
“I started making music when I was really young. It helped me escape from a lot of things that I felt like I was going through at the time,” Bieber expressed in his docu-series.
In the middle of his Purpose tour, Bieber canceled the remaining shows on his tour due to “unforeseen circumstances’, that left fans and the rest of the public confused.
“Performing was what he loved to do so when he said he no longer wanted to do it, I knew it had to be pretty serious,” Allison Kaye, Justin’s manager claimed.
After five, long years of making no music and staying out the public eye, Justin is back with answers and new music. Releasing Seasons, a docu-series diving deep into his personal life, we get a new perspective of Justin as a person, husband and artist.
In each episode, we learn something new about Justin Bieber. The first episode, Leaving the Spotlight, starts the beginning of a journey Justin Bieber and his close friends take us on as we can see where things start spiraling downhill. As the episodes progress, we watch Justin slowly healing from anxiety, stress, illness and drugs and all the things celebrities deal with people don’t see.
Throughout the docu-series, we see Justin go through these changes and seasons hinting the name of his docu-series and album. Released on Valentine’s Day of 2020, Justin gave us his fifth album, Changes, “an arms-wide-open tribute to wife, Hailey Baldwin, as well as to his faith, describing the healing he found from each,” Apple Music describes. Changes is more of a journal and transparent confessional of his true feelings about his life, his love and more.
Watching the docu-series truly helps you to see Justin in a different perspective, as well as appreciate him more as a person and artist. I think anytime a person in the spotlight lets you into the private life they deal with every day, you gain a sense of understanding that oh, this person is human. Even though they are a celebrity, they go through real stuff and maybe even more.
Watching the docu-series also makes you appreciate the album even more. In Seasons, we see the muse and background story of each song so when you listen to the album it means a lot more.
