For some time now, Joe Biden has been seen as the Democratic hope in this upcoming 2020 Presidential Election. Although he hasn’t declared becoming a candidate, many have even been anticipated Biden entering in the upcoming months. Unfortunately, a recent scandal has made people think the announcement of his candidacy won’t go well. Biden has always had an alarming history with women, specifically while serving as the Vice President.
Several years ago, allegations from Caitlyn Caruso, a 19-year-old at the time, were headlines everywhere. Caruso stated that Biden touched her thigh for longer than appreciated and hugged her. The act made her feel extremely uncomfortable, especially since she just shared her story of sexual assault. Furthermore, the two were at an event at the University of Nevada Las Vegas to discuss sexual harassment. Following Caruso came D.J. Hill. Hill reported that Biden put his hands on her shoulders and began to lower them at a campaign event in 2012. Although both of these incidents have been brought to the public in the past, Amy Lappos and Lucy Flores have come forward this week.
Amy Lappos recalls an encounter that can make anyone uncomfortable. The encounter with Lappos and Biden took place at a 2009 political fundraiser in Greenwich. “He put his hand around my neck and pulled me in to rub noses with me,” stated Lappos. Not only was she taken aback by the Eskimo kiss, but even though the Vice President would kiss her on the mouth. However, Lappos also reported that the act didn’t feel romantic or sexual at first. In the end, it was just weird. Oddly enough, Lucy Flores also was involved a kiss during her encounter with Biden. There weren’t any mouth-to-mouth activities, but Biden allegedly kissed the back of her head. This run-in happened in 2014.
Whether these accusations are true or not, Biden is being advised by many to monitor himself. People even feel that he might need some training before running for office. Nonetheless, hopefully, Biden learns how to stay an arm’s length away during his next encounter.
